FUNDING SOURCES

FUNDRAISING efforts have been underway for this project since we were first informed of the need for replacement of the wooden structure. We have worked hard to find and implement fun and engaging student-centered fundraising events, standard fundraising campaigns and programs that not only add to the project funds, but also provide the students of Sansome with enjoyable experiences. We have hosted both a Halloween and Spring Dance-a-thon, Dinner and Movie Nights, our annual Winter Raffle that we paired with a prize auction, as well as our year long programs for Milk and Pizza Friday. To-date we have raised over $93,000. The expenses related to the creation of the conceptual design, final design, construction drawings and documents for tendering the construction of the play space have left us with just over $70,000 of available funds toward this project.

PARTNERSHIPS and collaborations, not only lessen the load on one organization, but also provide the opportunity to build and strengthen our community. We have partnered with Westwood Community Child Care in both the design process and the funding of the project. They have donated $50,000+ to-date. We are also collaborating with both MLA Logan Oxenham and City Councilor Evan Duncan to identify sources of alternative funding.

GRANTS are an important and necessary source of funding for any project of this scale. We have and are in the process of applying for several grants. We have a robust list of grants we are working off of, but if anyone has information or a connection to additional grants, please do not hesitate to contact us.

COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIP is an great way for a individual or business to invest in the community around them. Well developed greenspaces in communities increase the overall appeal and property values of the neighbourhood. With this in mind we have created a sponsorship package that outlines the funding needs, benefits and sponsorship / donation levels to be displayed at Sansome.
