PRESIDENT

The President is responsible for calling and chairing meetings of the Parent Council and the executive and directing all activities of the Council.  The President works in close consultation with the principal and vice principal and represents the Council in all matters not delegated to specific conveners.  This position acts as signatory on authorized expenditures of the Council funds, is responsible for any correspondence issued under the direction of the parent council or the executive and is the deciding vote in the event of a tie.

Kailey is also performing the role of co-chair for fundraising.

VICE PRESIDENT

The Vice President acts in the capacity of president in the event the President is ill, not available, or resigns.  This role also assists the president in all matters not delegated to specific conveners and is one of the three signatories on authorized expenditures of the Council funds.  The Vice President also researches requests for funds submitted by school staff as well as assumes other duties as assigned by the president.

Kristin is also performing the role of Volunteer Coordinator.

SECRETARY

The Secretary takes meeting minutes and maintains copies of all records pertaining to the Parent Council and the Executive and provides copies to the executive and administration; who in turn posts a copy for the general public. This position also assists in the general administration and functional operation of the Council.

TREASURER

The Treasurer is responsible for the financial accounting of the Parent Council and acts in the capacity of financial advisor to the Parent Council.  The Treasurer is also one of the three signatories on authorized expenditures of the Parent Council.  This position is also responsible for presenting a financial audit at each meeting as well as providing a full audit to the school division at the end of each school calendar year.  The treasurer is also responsible for banking Council funds, arranging banking services and collecting funds.  In conjunction with the oversight of funds, the Treasurer is  also responsible for setting up and maintaining the parent council website.

Kelly is also performing the role of co-chair for fundraising.
